The classic Tanzania two weeks
Nothing else in Africa offers this contrast at this distance: six days among wildebeest and lion on the northern circuit, a ninety-minute flight, then a week where the biggest decision is whether to snorkel before or after lunch. It is the most requested trip we run, and for good reason.
The itinerary below is our standard twelve-day version at mid-range level. Everything is adjustable — add mobile camps in the migration sector, upgrade the beach hotel, or trim to nine days.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Arrive Kilimanjaro Airport → Arusha
Met at JRO and transferred to your Arusha hotel for a safari briefing with your guide.
Day 2
Arusha → Tarangire National Park
Afternoon game drive among baobabs and elephant herds; overnight lodge or tented camp.
Day 3
Tarangire → Serengeti National Park
Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands onto the plains, with an afternoon game drive in Seronera.
Day 4
Full day in the Serengeti
Dawn to dusk game driving; optional balloon flight over the plains at sunrise.
Day 5
Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater rim
Morning game drive, then up to the crater rim for sunset over the caldera.
Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha
Six hours on the crater floor searching for black rhino and lion, then the drive to Arusha.
Day 7
Fly Arusha → Zanzibar
Morning flight to the island and transfer to your beach hotel in the north or east.
Days 8–11
Zanzibar beach days
Swim, snorkel Mnemba atoll, sail a sunset dhow, take a spice farm or Jozani tour at your own pace.
Day 12
Stone Town & departure
A guided walk through the old town, lunch, then transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight home.

Is safari first or beach first better?
Safari first, beach second, almost always. Early game-drive starts are easier before you unwind, and finishing on the coast means you fly home rested rather than dusty.
How do the internal flights work?
We book them as part of the package. Arusha or Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar takes 75–90 minutes; direct flights also operate from Serengeti airstrips, letting you skip the drive back to Arusha entirely.
What is the luggage limit on internal flights?
Light aircraft allow 15 kg per person in soft bags. We store excess luggage in Arusha at no cost while you are on safari or the island.
Can we shorten the 12-day version?
Yes. A nine-day version drops one Serengeti night and one beach night; an eight-day version skips the Serengeti and pairs Tarangire and Ngorongoro with five nights on the coast.
