Can I do these day trips without a car?
Yes — every day trip includes pickup from your Arusha or Moshi hotel and return in a private vehicle with a driver-guide.
How long is the Materuni waterfall hike?
About 45 minutes each way on a well-worn path through Chagga farmland and coffee plots. It can be slippery after rain, so wear shoes with grip and bring a swimsuit for the pool at the base.
What is a coffee tour like?
You pick ripe cherries with a Chagga family, then pulp, dry, roast and pound the beans yourself while singing the grinding song, and drink the result. It takes two to three hours and is the day trip travellers talk about most.
Is Chemka (Kikuletwa) hot springs worth it?
For swimming, yes — it is a startlingly clear turquoise spring pool under fig trees, about two hours from Moshi. Go early to beat weekend crowds.
